Cutting guidelines: (Need help cutting pieces using the rotary cutter? Relate to our Rotary Cutting session page.)

Peach solid
... 2 pieces 1 9/16" x 7" (*Strip cutting guide - PDF file)
... 4 squares 2 3/8" x 2 3/8", cut diagonally which will make 8 half-square triangles (section A)
... 4 squares 3" x 3", cut diagonally which will make 8 half-square triangles (part B)
... 4 squares 3 7/8" x 3 7/8", cut diagonally to create 8 half-square triangles (Piece C)

Intermediate Amount

Peach printing
... 1 strip 1 9/16" x 7"
... 2 squares 2 3/8" x 2 3/8", cut diagonally in order to make 4 half-square triangles (part A)
... 2 squares 3" x 3", cut diagonally to make 4 half-square triangles (Piece B)
... 2 squares 3 7/8" x 3 7/8", slashed diagonally to make 4 half-square triangles (part D)

Green print
... 1 strip 1 9/16" x 7"
... 2 squares 2 3/8" x 2 3/8", slashed diagonally in order to make 4 half-square triangles (Piece A)
... 2 squares 3" x 3", cut diagonally which will make 4 half-square triangles (Piece B)
... 2 squares 3 7/8" x 3 7/8", cut diagonally to produce 4 half-square triangles (section C

Piecing the block
1. utilizing Diagram I as helpful information, patch together Green print 1 9/16" x 7" remove to Peach solid 1 9/16 x 7" strip. (Perform for Peach printing and Peach solid strips) Press seam allowances toward dark material. Sub slashed pieced pieces into 1 9/16" x 2 5/8" rectangles. Sew rectangles collectively to make 4 four-patch devices.

Diagram I

Action 2. utilizing Diagrams II, III, and IV as guides, make square-in-square devices beginning with the two 3/8" half-square triangles (Piece A). Sew part B half-square triangles (3") to device. Finish the quadrant (Snail's Trail Block) by sewing Piece C half-square triangles (3 7/8") to device.

Step 3. Turn quadrants to layout Virginia Reel pattern. Talking about Assembly Diagram, sew quadrants collectively to make block.
